About Us

We purchased our farm from a family member in 2004. We struggled for several years trying to find the best use for the land.  Cattle seemed to be the consensus best choice so we purchased a small herd of Angus-Cross cattle with a registered Simmental bull.  Things were moving along well, the cows were calving and the calves were selling.  But something was missing, diversity.  With a cow-calf operation there is a long time period between the time a cow is bred and the time it's calf is sold. The variability in the cattle market also adds strain to the cow-calf operator and it is often a struggle to wait ans sell at the opportune moment. The solution that we arrived at was to add a second livestock commodity to our enterprise. After researching the current market trends and shifting demographics we arrived a the conclusion that meat goats made the most sense for us.  Of the meat goat breeds available, we decided to focus on the Boer breed.  They are double muscled, have a 5 month gestation period, can breed out of season, and most importantly, they eat what the cows leave behind. As a result, we intend to offer some registered replacment breeding stock as well as Boer-cross kids for sale.
